Democratic Representative Al Green Ejected from House Chamber for Heckling President Trump

 

In a dramatic moment during President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress on Tuesday night, Democratic Representative Al Green of Texas was ejected from the House chamber after interrupting the president’s speech.

Green, a long-time critic of President Trump, stood up minutes into the address and shouted, “Mr. President, you don’t have a mandate!”—a statement referring to concerns over proposed Medicaid cuts. His outburst was quickly met with chants of “U-S-A!” from Republican lawmakers before House Speaker Mike Johnson ordered his removal.
