Since its inception in 1996, the MOBO Awards have celebrated and elevated Black music in the UK. The decision to host the 2025 ceremony in Newcastle underscores the city's rich cultural heritage and vibrant music scene. Kanya King CBE, Founder and CEO of MOBO Group, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, "Newcastle is a city steeped in history, culture, and a dynamic sense of community alongside an electric nightlife, making it the perfect host city."



Star-Studded Performances

The 2025 MOBO Awards promise an electrifying lineup of performances. Dancehall sensation Spice, renowned for her high-energy shows, is set to ignite the stage. UK rap duo Krept & Konan will bring their dynamic sound, while the multi-talented Bashy is also slated to perform. Additionally, the event will feature a special R&B medley curated by DJ Ace, showcasing talents like Jaz Karis, Nao, Sasha Keable, Shaé Universe, and the legendary Shola Ama.


Celebrating Excellence: The Nominees

This year's nominations highlight the incredible breadth of talent across various genres. Artists leading with multiple nominations include Jorja Smith, Cleo Sol, Central Cee, Bashy, Ghetts, and Odeal, each receiving three nods. The categories span a wide range, from Best Male and Female Acts to Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

The ceremony will be co-hosted by comedian Eddie Kadi and media personality Indiyah Polack. Eddie Kadi, known for his comedic flair and as the first British Black comedian to headline the O2 Arena, shared his excitement: "It's a thing that I've grown up with as a kid so to be called in as a host... Dancehall icon Vybz Kartel will receive the MOBO Impact Award, marking a historic moment as he sets foot on UK soil for the first time in over a decade. British sports legend Dame Denise Lewis DBE will be honored with the Paving The Way Award, recognizing her outstanding achievements in athletics and her influence beyond the track.
